Slideshows & Presentations.

Some love it, some hate it but none the less they cannot deny that Microsoft's PowerPoint has had a profound effect on how we view and assimilate information. From the office to our home, from the boardroom to the classroom, PowerPoint has helped millions of people to get their ideas across, clearly and effectively, by using the visual medium to its fullest.

For every effective PowerPoint presentation, however, there's always twenty more made by those who went mad with the Power and completely lost sight of the Point. In this day and age it's fair to say that at least half the population has, at some point or another, been subjected to a terribly long and terminally boring PowerPoint presentation. As for the other half, it's pretty much assured they'll join us sooner or later.

It's called PowerPoint Syndrome - when one gets too much involved in the mechanics of the presentation and forgets to make it interesting, informative or engaging in any way and so people begin loose interest. All the time and effort that went into the presentation has therefore been wasted, and also, worst of all, it has caused a negative reaction, not necessarily to the central idea of the presentation but to the presentation itself.

So, in other words, if you want to explain something to somebody, for example to outline a business concept to would-be financiers, the last thing you want to do is to put them to sleep with a forty-six-slide lullaby.

Our Service:

We should note, at this juncture, that we don't just specialise in PowerPoint specifically, we're just using it our primary example, as it is the most popular presentation software out there at the moment. So if PowerPoint's not your preference we can also deliver a complete polished presentation as Flash for your site or as a full, high-quality movie or DVD.

In fact, for all intents and purposes, it's best to think about it as a movie; you write the script and we direct it.
So you provide us with the text and materials you would like to see represented and we create a working slideshow for you, complete with all the cues, timings and notes you'll need.

Now that we have our writer and director we also need an actor - this would be the person who gives the actual presentation. We believe that the most important component of a good presentation is the actual speaker - after all you can have the greatest presentation in the world as your background, and the best wording and content, if the speaker isn't up to par nobody will listen.
Therefore when you sign us up to create a presentation for you we will also impart some free pointers and tips on how to give a great presentation which we have learned over the years.

Finally, there's the actual multimedia aspect. This includes the graphics or photos you want (including stock photos if required which are far more effective and professional looking than generic clipart) as well as the audio aspect - music and sound effects - and the visual aspect i.e. any videos or animations you wish to include, as well as the types of titles or credits you wish to use, what fonts, colours etc, and what sorts wipes, fades and transitions you wish to include.

Indeed there's no reason why a presentation need look like a presentation at all. It can look much more like a movie if you wish, with its own credits, subtitles and soundtrack with each movement and transition perfectly timed and synchronised to it.

Knowing the balance is all important, however. If you want to wow people with your presentation, then we can do so but if all you want to do is to display cold hard facts then all these fancy visual effects will go against you. Therefore for your simple presentation-with-speaker presentation we believe less is more, less effects and distractions, more of the actual speaker, whereas if you wish your presentation to be a stand-alone movie either for display in your organisation or on your website then we would recommend making it as professional and cinematic as possible, otherwise the concept will be cheapened by poor production values.

Prices:

As with most of our services, we work on a set-price basis. Therefore for PowerPoint or other similar programs it's €2 per slide, for Flash slideshows we charge €25 per hour and finally, for videos, we charge €50 per hour. These fees, however, do not include any additional costs this may incur - e.g. stock photo costs, royalty free music costs, or duplication costs. (CD/DVD/etc.)
