For your own sake, it's advisable that you prepare and collate all your materials and information prior to commissioning us for a project. It saves you both time and money. Obviously the more preparation is done, the sooner the project will be up and running and you can avoid consultation fees.

Considerations:
1. What domain name do you want to have? Will you be buying the domain or looking for hosting from us? If not, or if you wish to opt for our web maintenance services, we shall require your FTP details. If you don't have these to hand or don't know what they are you may need to contact your hosting provider or previous web administrator. If you need help with any of this, or are unsure of the terminology involved, don't hesitate to contact us.
2. Design concept, colour scheme, menu layout (do you want a vertical or horizontal menu?) and any ideas you might have about the logo design or overall look/feel of the site. In our experience some people aren't so concerned with the design, whereas others have a very clear idea as to how they would like their site to look, some even supply us with sketches and drawings. Regardless, we are always receptive to any ideas, input or feedback you might have.
3. The main content regards the site itself and what you want to say. First of all, give us a short description, a sentence should suffice, about who you are and what you do, followed by some keywords for search engines. Then tell us how many pages you are looking for and what the pages will be.
The traditional site design is as follows; the home page, an about page, and contact, services and links pages. For the home page we'll need to know what you want it to say as this is usually the first text a customer will see when they view your site or find it on a search engine. The about text would be an expansion of this.
The next thing you need to start thinking about is the actual wording of the site as a whole. This is important not just because it conveys the information you need to your clients, but it also gives search engines such as Google and Yahoo more text to read through, therefore improving your odds of a higher place on the search engine podium.
Finally you will need to think about contact details, what sites, if any, you wish to link to, if you wish to have a blog or newsletter and finally any testimonials (endorsements of your product by customers) you wish to place upon the site.
4. Media content. In addition to text, you need to think about what graphics and logos you wish to place on your site, as well as photos and specialised web graphics such as animations and flash slides, to add that little extra pizzazz.
In addition to graphics, you also should consider other forms of media such as video and audio.
See our multimedia services page for more info.
5. Advertising - There are two aspects to web advertising, the first, is how you advertise and market your site on the internet and the ways you use to bring people there, and the second is how you chose to generate revenue from your site using referral ads, pay per click and other forms of advertising.
