Copywriting & Content Creation Services

Fact: The average web surfer has the attention span of a goldfish.

Why do people come to a website? They come because they are looking for something specific, which means they’ve probably performed a specific search on Google. And more often than not, when they don’t find what they’re looking for, they get frustrated. They jump from one website to the next, skimming down through text rather than reading it. The younger they are the more impatient by default, the older they are, chances are, the less comfortable they are online, and so they, too, become equally vexed.

So when somebody visits your site you have about two to five seconds to show them that - yes!  - they have found exactly what they’re looking for.

In order for your website to have its Eureka moment your web content must:
  • Be clear and uncluttered
  • Be interesting and informative
  • Have text that’s easy to read and understand
  • Have copy that’s short, snappy and to the point
  • Have a good sales pitch with an intrinsic understanding of the Principles of Persuasion
True this can be said about any form of promotional text, be it a brochure, flyer or press release.
For the web, however, there are two other crucial factors that need to be taken into account. Firstly the HTML of the page must be Search Engine Optimised and secondly the textual content must contain relevant target keywords and key phrases that properly reflect the nature of your business.
This way you ensure that the people who find your website via search engines like Google or Bing got there because they were searching for the exact product or service that you provide.

Now that they’ve arrived it’s time to reel them in with content that holds their interest, answers their questions and convinces them that your product or service is precisely what they have been searching for all along.

To achieve this requires a delicate trade-off between writing for people and writing for search engines in a way that informs and reads naturally to both – we’ve been doing it for years!

And when it’s done right the results are clear to see; through sales, through customer satisfaction and through metrics software such as Google Analytics. You can see the people who come to your site, how they got there and what they were searching for. How long they spent on each page, what held their interest and how many of them clicked on that big shiny button that says “Buy Now” or that lovely link that simply says - Contact Us
