The majority of web design companies charge by the hour and in most cases their time doesn't come cheap.
What makes Brionglóid different is that we charge set prices for all our services. For basic web pages, we charge just €20 per page, provided the number of pages is two or more.
In fact our pricing policy is based upon set prices; set prices for hosting and domains, set prices for extras and set prices for page design. Our €20 fee is a Basic Page fee, based upon the assumption that the page is a basic webpage with no flash or scripting required.
Extras, such as flash menus and other flash elements, as well as scripts such as contact scripts, cost extra.
These extras can be seen in our Web Extras section. A full pricelist of all our services is available in our pricelist section however there are exceptions to the set-price rule. More elaborate work, such as checkout scripts, credit card scripts and database integration are only available on a consultation basis and prices will obviously vary depending on the scale, detail and complexity of the work involved.
For your own sake, it's advisable that you collate all your materials and information prior to commissioning us for your web project. It saves you both time and money and it also means we can get to work on your site a lot quicker. For this reason we provide you with a website planner so you can prepare all your materials first.
Obviously the more preparation is done, the sooner the project will be up and running and you can avoid consultation fees. Just like our web costs, our consultation fees are low at just €10 per hour. There is no charge for the initial consultation, consultation fees don't come into effect until after we get started on coding and designing the project. The best way to avoid these fees is to have adequate preparation (as outlined in our website planner) prior to contacting us. Consultation fees are also based on correspondence with the client after the project has begun in earnest, such as when we have to phone the client for various reasons before we can continue with the project. Some clients, however, prefer to pay consultation fees as they would prefer to leave the entire project in our hands. This often includes people who do not know what, specifically, they want to say regarding the wording of their site and so, instead, entrust the entire textual content to us.
1. Tom has run his own plumbing and washing machine/dishwasher repair business for ten years. Now he wants to expand into green energy items, such as solar water heating systems and domestic wind turbines, as, in an age of uncertainty regarding fossil fuels, and with increasing interest in alternative energy, he feels it is a sector where money can be made in the future. For his new website he just wants the standard design; with Home, About, Contact (with contact script), Services and Links pages and also a logo. On the Services pages he wishes to list the various services he provides and also to promote his new Green Energy idea.

2. Nora and Jim have a small B&B in West Clare and are growing concerned as numbers have been dropping steadily over the past few years. They already have an old IOL website which they were never all that happy with. They paid for the website upfront but it was never really finished. The page has several typing errors, two broken links and only one photo of the premises. The photo is a grainy scan of a photograph which was shot on a dull, grey, overcast day and looks awful. The site itself was put together for them back in 1999 but the person who made the site for them moved to Australia the following year and the site hadn't been updated since, most notably the rates which are still in Punts. The site itself cost them £500IRL.
Despite feeling ripped off by their last site, Nora and Jim are ready to give the website thing another go, albeit with a sense of trepidation.
Having looked at some other similar sites already on our roster, however, they are finally convinced that we can indeed deliver what we promise and decide to take the plunge. Instead of just one photograph as before, they want to have a number of photographs both inside and outside the house, as well as of the gardens and agree to a Photoshoot charge. They've also decided to get a domain and hosting from us, in addition to four basic pages; Home, Location, Booking and Pictures - the latter where people can view various photos of the property, both inside and out, and click on each to enlarge them. They also want a logo and a contact script for the booking page.
